An authority noted that the earliest listing found for “bean pot”, also known as “bean bakers”, was from a Lynn, Massachusetts pottery in 1811. While visiting an art museum, I noticed on a 16th century Dutch Masters painting, a squatter shape similar to the bean pots that I make. These are half-gallon bean pots and are 7 ½ inches tall.
This is truly a mid to late 19th century pot that was described by one authority as a vase. Condensation beneath the goblet can occur, so place a dish under it, if it is used as a vase. The Goblet is 6 inches tall and holds 10 ounces.
