The form of my Soup Bowls are inspired by Staffordshire china soup bowls and not from any known antique redware. These Soup Bowls are decorated with either Marbling, Squiggles and Dots Decorated Rim, Plain Glazed or Spangled. The Decorated Rim design is also found on the Fruit Bowl. The Decorated Rim pattern is the substitute for the Feather pattern that is not available on this bowl or the Fruit Bowl.

I make this popular form in three diameters: 4, 6 and 8 inches. “Basin”, modern day bowl, was recorded in the 1747 daybook of John Parker of Charlestown, Massachusetts. “Bowl” is a French word.
